Hi all I have searched and searched but have not been able to find a solve to this problem. Upon installation of 10.13 all sound from my machine is gone. Cannot open the sound pref pane - crashes/error. Audio midi setup app does not show ANY sound in or out options. I have reinstalled, reformatted/reinstalled and upgraded to the beta 10.13.1 - nothing. It appears the soundpref plist file is gone completely and is not being created by whatever system service upon (re)start. The only file that does exist is com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist in the /Library/Preferences/Audio folder of which i have deleted to no effect. Can someone advise or point me in a direction?
