I currently have a 2008 MBP and am thinking of getting a new computer. I was wondering if the MBA OCT 2010 edition with max cpu (2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) and 4gb ram would work well with photoshop and some web development? The tools I use are photoshop, dreamweaver, textmate,coda, and transmit, also my MBP from 2008 is 4gb intel core 2 duo 2.4 ghz. Would the MBA be faster then my 2008 MBP?

I have the that exact model of Air. Have used for 2 weeks or so now. Photoshop CS 5 in 64 bit loads in one to two bounces. It is very fast with working with large raw images and other large files.
I do have Coda and it is pretty fast also. I have not worked with Dreamweaver on this one yet. Just to show you how capable it is, I have opened Final Cut Pro with one bounce and loads in about 7-8 seconds. I do not have a pro-sumer or even pro HD camera so I've only worked with a 1.39GB 720p video from my 3gs (720p via jailbreak and changing the camera's plist) and it work faster than I thought also. Took around 30 minutes to compress and export to mp4 in HD.
I've seen a youtube video with the latest Air, not sure of the specs, and I think either a 2009 or 2010 MBP with an SSD being tested for copying a 1GB file. The Air finished several seconds before upgraded MBP with SSD.
The whole OS experience just seems so smooth and fluid. I am coming from a Mac Mini 1.66 where I was used to waiting and watching beach balls all the time.
All in all I am very impressed with this machine. Glad I have upgraded to the full options. I have read other users with a 2008 MBP say the Air was faster. So I recommend it. Definitely go with the 4GB ram as I have ran enough pro apps to almost max out the ram but even then when an app needs vRam then its almost like using more Ram since the SSD is pretty fast. So also get 256 SSD if you can.
