Hi I am thinking of an ultra portable rig consisting of the Macbook Air and Reason 4.0 and a USB MIDI keyboard.

Will this set up work?

I know that the speakers are mono but the headphone out should be good to go right?

Does anyone have this setup?

yeah

I'm running a macbook air 1.86 ghz (w/ nvidia 9400m), with the apple 24 inch LED cinema display. Runs everything full screen quite nicely.

You should be good.
I used to run Reason 4.0 on my old Macbook Pro (1.83ghz) and it would barely tax the computer.

I'm hoping to run Reason 5 and Abelton Live 8 on an Ultimate 13" Air. I appreciate this thread - any one else work with Reason on their Air? How does it work?

Reason 4.0 is not very CPU taxing at all and it will run fine on any Core 2 Duo machine. Reason 4.0 will struggle on a G4 however, but it runs fine on any intel machine practically.
