I bought a Blackbook last year and I was disappointed in how the screen looked compared to my Macbook Pro. I wouldn't say it was bad, but it looked very washed out compared to the Macbook Pro no matter how I went about calibrating it.

Are the Macbook Air screens more like the Macbook or Macbook Pro?

Definitely the MBP. I have one of each and I personally think the Air has the brightest and most vibrant of the three.
IMO, the MB's screen is kind of crap.

breakdown:

Macbook - Non-LED 13.1" Glossy - intel x3100 144mb shared
macbook air - LED 13.1" Glossy - " " " " " "
macbook pro - (2008) LED Matte (usually) 15.4"/17" - 256mb/512mb nVidia dedicated

Off the top of my head!

Well the correction is the 17" standard resolution is non-LED (CCFL)

If anyone reads the developer spec sheets, the air has a 300 brightness while the macbook and macbook pro only has 250-280ish. Thats why its brighter... because it is brighter.

I am a first time mac user with a MBA. I love the MBA screen. Recently saw my friends MB and I just couldn't see how someone could use the MB screen. The difference is really stark. But yes, the new MBP (2008) LED screens are the same as the MBA ones though.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, saw MBA and MB next to each other at the Apple Store,MBA is vivid, but the MB is anything but crap,(next post) in fact my MB screen is drop dead gorgeous:eek:
