I was surfing on amazon this morning and I noticed that they state they only have 1 macbook air left in stock... usually when they have more on the way they state that there is "only 1 left but more on the way" Maybe a sign that a refresh is a couple weeks away.

Or it could be they just aren't selling well and are not worth keeping inventory any longer. Even Apple sells current models the day before they announce an update, would consider this a sign.

macmall

Macmall says same day shipping on the macbook air page, but when you click into the product it says "Call us – usually ships within 5 to 7 days" which means they are out of stock.

I don't know if any of this implies there's an MBA update coming, but I hope so. I really believe Apple will finally update the MBA. It sounds like they will be introducing a consumer model 11.6" MBA. I pray that it's in addition to the 13.3" and possibly larger MBAs. I want a great Mac that doesn't have a 1.5 lb. battery nor waste the space for an ancient optical drive that is useless for most.

I have to believe that Apple will actually update the MB and 13" MBPs either at the same time or shortly after the MBA update. Past updates are October or November for the MB and January for the MBPs. I believe an October update probably does mean the MBA would be focusing on consumers for the holiday season. I would expect large price breaks if that happens. People want ultraportability and smaller products to sync their iPods, iPhones, and iPads too. An 11.6" MBA could be a consumer focused product to do just that.

I just hope and pray that the 13" MBA is here to stay and has many BTO options allowing us addicts the ability to follow through with our prayers and buy an MBA for $3k that has 8 GB RAM, IPS display, Core i7 CPU, and a discrete GPU along with a 256 GB SSD. I would be happy to buy it tomorrow morning, as that's a Tuesday, but it might even be a live event introduction if it's new. It might even be introduced with the 7" iPad we're all expecting... and an iPhone for Verizon would be great too. What a holiday season that would be for me, and AAPL shareholders.
