Macbook air trackpad

Please go easy on me because I just joined this website in May. I am a serious mac newbie. I have been using iphone for a while, but I am new with macs.


With that being said, I wonder why Apple hasn't update macbook air's trackpad? If you look at other macbook and macbook pro trackpads, it has just one giant trackpad as a butoon. But, macbook air has 1 button serperately on trackpad. Why hasn't apple update this yet? Do you think they will fix this in next update? Am i missing something? Is it because it's so thin?

I will probably hold off until apple updates macbook air, but I just want to know clear answer to this.

The trackpad is the least of the MBA's "need to be updated" issues.

I don't expect core i3, i5 or i7 on macbook air anytime so soon.
Apple will most likely going to update to higher CPU, but it will stay with Core 2 Duo. It will probably have Nvidia 320M with more HDD. I don't expect price drop, either. I just hope they don't price it higher like they did with mac mini.
With that being said, I would love to see trackpad to be updated like other macbook family.

The MBA is in serious need of an upgrade in many areas, not just its obsolescent trackpad. Based on my own needs, the MBA's most serious failing is its non upgradeable 2Gb of RAM. It also tends to run too hot in some applications and its hinges are relatively weak, too. Most of us who have been obsessing over when, or if, the MBA will be updated agree that it needs a lot. The most optimistic scenario seems to be that Apple will wait to find a CPU and GPU solution that is significantly superior to the current C2D and NVIDIA 9400m GPU. Unfortunately, no such solution appears to be available yet and nobody knows when one might be introduced.
