I cannot seem to get my iPod to work with my new Air. I plug it in and nothing happens. I have tried many times. Once or twice the iPod has shown that it is charging but not every time. I have read that a MAc formatted iPod will not work on a PC but that a PC formatted one should work on a Mac. Mine is Formatted for Windows. I have not had a MAc since the early nineties so basically I am new to them. Also tried the only other USB device I have which is a Lacie floppy drive and nothing happens when I plug it in either. Am I just missing something obvious or do I have a faulty USB port? Any suggestions?

Cops?

Caelem -- I had an intermittent problem with my USB port (seems to have been fixed with 10.5.2). By re-setting the SMC with a "COPS" reset, it would be fixed. Command-option-POWER-shift, all at once when the MBA is powered off. Then hit power to re-start. There's no visible or audible note so just hold for three or four seconds. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys...I called Apple and managed to get the USB floppy drive working(turns out I am an idiot). So it looks like a problem with my iPod. 60GB 4th Gen. They have asked me to try resetting the iPod and see if that works. SO looks like my Air is still perfect. I have no problm upgrading to a shiny new iPod. Thanks again for the help.
