MBA works fine on sleeping when i click on the apple logo and click on sleep.

When I try to use Option + Command + Eject the MBA starts to go into sleep and flickers back on. Sometimes it takes me 3 or 4 times of this key combination to get it to finally sleep.

Any thoughts?

I've seen the sleep problem before on a 13" air I had back in december. However, I thought I saw that apple released a firmware update that fixes this?

Hmm.. so this is a software issue?
I just picked up this MBA about 2 weeks ago..
Any idea where I can download the firmware update that may fix this?

I called AppleCare and they basically wanted me to take this into the Apple Store to get it fixed. They were not able to really solve this problem

Click the Apple icon top left corner.

Yes.. i could do that.. it works fine that way.
I'm just trying to make sure my new Macbook Air has no hardware problems..

The quick shortcut should work.. but its not.. any other ideas?

Sorry, I meant click on the Apple in order to check software update— second item from the top of the drop down menu.

There was a firmware update for sleep issues but I think it was "wake from sleep" not going to sleep. Still, best to make sure all the latest software/firmware is installed.
