MacBook and 2GB Ram

I bought 2 macbooks for my business, and a macbook pro, i am using a macbook pro my self and it runs amazing.

my question is, if i was to try using parallels on the macbook would it be smarter to upgrade to 2GB of ram or 1GB that comes with it is good enough to run windows xp.

My MacBook Pro has 2GB of memory and i have parallels installed and it runs windows better then windows ran on my IBM ThinkPad before i got the apple computer.

any suggestions, is anyone femiliar with parallels

More RAM is always better if you can afford it. Particularly in the MacBook, where the intergrated graphics will steal some of your RAM.

i saw some really good deals on ebay, 2GB 2X1GB sticks for $310 plus shipping witch is much cheaper then $720 what apple is asking for.

Does it make that much of a differance between 1GB to 2GB or is this like a 32bit vs 64bit delema

You can do a lot better than that...try DMS. They're a terrific Mac RAM vendor currently offering a 2 x 1 GB kit with lifetime warranty for $238.

Depending on what you want to do, bumping to 2 GB will give you a huge boost...I think you'll find it'll make your experience (in both OS X and Windows) a lot better.

wow, what's happened to RAM prices... I bought 2x1 GB for $162 shipped a few months ago. Now I need more (because those 2 GB are split between my MB and my gf's iMac core duo) and prices have skyrocketed!
