Anybody know how long apples warranty checker on their site takes to update? I registered applecare for my macbook today and it appears in my agreements but if i check my serial number it still says its covered under the 1 year limited warranty which is about to expire.

I believe you are covered from the second you bind your AppleCare to your MacBook (at registration).

So I shouldn't worry then (I'm a born worrier :p ). If I try to download techtools the site correctly identifies my macbook serial as linked to an apple care agreement that expires 19/05/2009 but just using the checker on the apple.com/support site shows my limited warranty expiring tomorrow! (yes i like to cut things fine). I'm sure it will be ok as the registration page would not have allowed me to complete the process if there was a problem.

I think I should receive something in the post? Well I'm sure the site said something to that effect after completing registration.
