hi,

just like to know did the recently upgraded new macbooks only allow to burn dvd-r dl as well, not just dvd+r dl.

i bought mine end of last year after it was upgraded to c2d macbook - and it seems the superdrive in this can't burn dvd-r dl?

Have a new 2.2ghz SR MB here and this is what it says in the system profiler:
DVD-Write: -R, -R DL, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW

from the apple website, it says:

Maximum write: 8x DVD-R, DVD+R; 4x DVD-R DL (double layer), DVD+R DL (double layer), DVD-RW, DVD+RW; 24x CD-R; 10x CD-RW

wouldn't yours be able to burn dvd-r dl since its the new macbooks?

My mac pro which i bought earlier this year (around easter) keeps ejecting the dvd-r dl I put in it...aargh!
