Yes, I know, I'm not expecting kickass performance with Final Cut Studio or anything, I'm simply concerned about the MacBook's ability to run Final Cut Pro/Express. I ran into this on the Apple site, Final Cut Studio is not supported on MacBook.

The knowledge base states that because of the GMA950, Motion and other programs will have issues and degraded performance. Does this "other programs" include Final Cut Pro (and by extension, Express)?

And for curiousity's sake, what kind of "issues" will show up in Motion?

Oh lordy  There's about a dozen of these threads concerning MacBook and FCP.

It will work fine on all the apps except motion, which will work - you may have to do the install hack - http://www.xlr8yourmac.com - and then keep your motion clips short and avoid full quality preview - use 1/2 - 1/4.......

Only issue in motion is that as you begin layering a load of affects it will get sluggish, and you'll have to wait whilst it updates the realtime preview window.

Other than that FCS runs as fast on a macbook as it does on a macbookpro.
