You can use it and it does work quite well but it is not supported on a MacBook.

It works great for my on a core duo mac book with 2 GBs of ram.

Final Cut Pro works great on macbooks, but motion will not. This is why Final Cut Studio is not suppored on macbooks or minis.

FCP works great on my MBP Core Duo. Should work okay on the MacBooks for basic editing. but you'll probably have some dropped frames, slowdowns, slow renderings, etc. That's the primary problem.
I don't think that all of the FCStudio programs work on the MB [they do on my MBP].
