Hi,

Does anyone have experience purchasing an Apple Macbook with Applecare? Except that before your device has been delivered the starting date of Applecare already starts when it is shipped. That would imply you are paying few days or weeks before receiving/owning the actual device.

Will and how does the start date change or how do I change it into when I received it?

And no matter when you buy your AppleCare+ plan, the coverage starts from the day you bought your device. So you don’t get an “extra” two months of coverage if you wait two months to buy the plan.


That second sentence, of course, is in reference to Apple's 60-day "grace period" for adding AppleCare, which I know doesn't apply to you, but I left that part in because it's also good info to know for others.

Have you checked how many days do you have left?

Usually when I receive new iMacs or MacBooks they even come with 375 or 380 days of warranty, instead of just the 365 (1 year warranty)

In this case should I pay the extra days of warranty?

Hi,

Apple doesn't bill you for any products until the actual date your item ships out to you, with that being said, coverage begins the day it ships to you so if any damage occurs during shipping, you would be covered.

Plan coverage begins when you purchase the Plan and continues, unless cancelled, through the date specified in your Plan Confirmation (the “Plan Term”). See Item 2
I do not need Applecare when it ships obviously if something happens Id return it for an exchange. But thanks for the comment I will contact them and update this thread.

I'm sorry, perhaps I was misreading what you were talking about. What I was trying to explain was that when you purchase a Mac with AppleCare coverage. Both the purchase date and AppleCare coverage begins when the Mac ships out of Apple's facility. Coverage doesn't begin when you actually receive the item and Apple will not change this date as this is their policy. Again, my apology's if I was misunderstanding your question
