I brought my macbook to an apple store last month to get the logic board replaced because I was having random shutdowns. When I got it back it ran ok, no more shutdowns.

What's bothering me is how it was put back together. The battery isn't flush with the bottom anymore, it sits in. There is a crack in the housing where the top half of the case is just above the ports where I can see inside, and the screen makes a creaking noise when I open it up. I was kinda irritated by all this but I figured that at least it worked, but now I went to upgrade the ram and I noticed that a screw was missing just behind the cover that goes over the ram slots.

I realize I am being very picky but I did spend quite a bit and I would expect a little bit better quality. I have a gateway laptop that was a lot cheaper and fits together perfectly.

So my question is, should I bring it back in and complain?

Finally I have arrived.....
I think that would be the ground for returning your Mac for a thorough and complete repair. I have been lucky enough not to use Apple's warranty service for my Macs to this day. But, I feel once the repair is done on the unit, it would not be the same anymore (meaning, there is some casing mismatch and other new problems during the repair process).

That is not being picky at all. You paid for something that is supposed to function and look a certain way. If either are incorrect, then Apple is obligated to make it right.

Why didn't you complain back then?

You have certainly lost a lot of grounds for making that complaint because that delays open up the opportunity for the service centre to turn around and blame you instead.
