Rovman said:Based on your Full charge capacity, it is my guess that you didn't do the Battery Calibration.
Hmm I calibrated it the first day. Must have done something wrong.
I started the thread becuase my MacBook is randomly shutting down, and I read one user on the Apple forums say his problem was fixed with a new battery.
I'm pretty sure all that (the negative number) means is that you're discharging the battery (i.e., it isn't plugged in).iamhammill said:I suppose I could give it a try.
Anyone know what causes the difference in amperage?
Yes, the battery could be bad. You may want to try reseting the PRAM and try another calibration. The proper way to calibrate is:jsw said:I'm pretty sure all that (the negative number) means is that you're discharging the battery (i.e., it isn't plugged in).
The fact that the capacity is so low so soon does possibly indicate a bad battery, though.
Charge MB to 100%;
Disconnect power and allow battery to run all the way down (disregard low battery warning) and let MB put itself in a low battery induced Sleep;
Let it stay in this state for 5 or more hours - just let it sit with an empty battery;
After 5 hours, connect power and charge it all the way to 100%.
You're right! Good catchRovman said:Minor correction, once charged to 100%, leave it powered on and Plugged in for a further 2 hours before you start the discharge.
