Just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar... or has any idea of what the cause is.

I have a 2016 MacBook that I hook up to an LG27UD88W via USB-C. I have noticed recently that when the MacBook battery charge is less than 50%, there is a problem with the connection. Instead of the laptop drawing power and the display working, the battery indicator in the menu bar is continually switching every second or two between battery power and mains power, whilst the menu bar is blinking with each switch. This is accompanied by a sound.

As a workround I have to charge the laptop until the battery reaches 50% charge, after which it's fine.

I have tried different cables and get the same result.

Thoughts welcome...
Thanks
