I have a 3 month old macbook and i have no problems about discoloration or random shutdown but i have a complain with battery life. On normal internet browsing, i'm only getting about 3 hours of battery juice (from 100 full charge to full drain).I'm using "better energy savings... Apple claim 6 hours:(

I rarely get more than 3 hours, indeed Coconut battery claims my battery life is already down to 92% after 25 cycles.

Is this normal I wonder?

I get about 3 and a half hours at 40% screen brightness (which I think is plenty because the screen is so bright)

Lowering screen brightness can help quite a bit. Also, if you are using Firefox 1.5, switching to 2.0 might help too because 1.5 is a CPU hog.

Is bluetooth turned on? That won't make a crazy big difference but it will make a difference. Also do you have the screen brightness all the way up that will make a difference. Also flash stuff will use lots and lots of cpu therefore if you get somethign to disable flash on web sites it will save on battery life if you're doing alot of web surfing.
