MacBook battery weirdness.

ok, my battery icon in my 6 month old macbook has an 'x' in it, no time, no percentage, nada. i've restarted, disconnected and reconnected the battery, but it hasnt changed....ideas? is my battery being a bit special?

I'm assuming you've done all the software updates and have tried clicking on the battery icon itself to select the different view options right (ie, time, percentage, icon only)? If you've done this, then I back up Cybergypsy and say it's time to call Apple.
I kinda remember reading this is what happens before it explodes... But yes, call Apple ASAP and back up quick before that sucker blows (not that it really would, but for added emphasis on the point).
yeah, i've done the things you've suggested, and it didnt work. however, in the last 10 mins i restarted again and as if by magic, its back to normal! i think i should still be Apple store bound, y/y?
Was this a long term thing (as in you noticed it a few times in the past few weeks) or a short term thing (you saw it today and tried a restart, and shortly after you posted, it went away)? If it's short term, keep your eye out and if it happens again, take it in. If it's been happening, then take it in anyway. In fact, if it does happen again, take a screenshot so you can show the Genius. Sometimes this can help the Genius know what you mean.
