So i bought a macbook (the first mac of my life) for school and i got it and its ok.
but now i'm hearing about gen 2 macbooks are out, so they are a bit faster and now the macbook black comes with 1G or ram standard and 120 GB standard:eek:
that was not true like 4 mos ago.
so i'm here to ask is now a good time to buy the new macbook black or are they about to do some more updates. i hate when i buy something and something better comes out the next day.
i want that macbook black but i want to make sure i wait first.
so by march (when windows vista becomes standard) i will know whether i want to switch back to windows or not. but maybe by then the new macbooks will be better:confused:

also i'm trying to get one of those new ipods but again i'd like to know are they about to do some updates or is christmas season a good time to buy.

so my 3 questions are
1. is vista going to be worth waiting for?
2. are they about to update macbooks anytime soon?
3. are they about to update ipods again.
(i fell for that ipod rebate trick earlier this year)

1. Don't know, will you be using Vista more than OSX? If not then it doesn't really matter. Vista will ship to consumers in January, the one you should be looking out for is OSX 10.5 Leopard which should ship sometime in March/April.

2. Nope.

3. Not sure, they'll either update the whole line or add in a new model above. Nobody knows, that's why we're a rumour site. Apple keep their secrets very close to the chest.

If you can wait the 8 days 10 hours and 35 minutes until the MWSF keynote, it'll be a lot easier to answer your questions. We'll know more about the Leopard release, and the video iPod might come out. Don't expect a MacBook update anytime soon though. There's not much more they can improve on it right now. There's always the possibility of the smaller (12" or less) MB/MBP though if that's of importance to you.
