Woah! Slow down!

You can get the capacity back. Run the batt all the way to sleep. Close it, and recharge without interruption.

In layman's terms, that's called a "Battery Refresh" and it's good to do once a month.

Oh, and I'd download the iStat pro Widget. I find its battery info to be a little less... silly.

It's amazing what suddenly being exposed to information that was always there can do to someone's disposition.

thanks bro, i appreciate the reply, so im going to leave my mac on till it "falls asleep" plug it in, and let it fully charge with any interuption!, got it and yeah,
when should i re charge my macbook? like when it says that your using the backup battery? and yeah, when im at home its ok to leave the charger on even though its full and disconnecting it when going somewhere?

You would want to recharge when you see the little white light blinking, and it won't respond to any keypresses.

When you are ready to refresh the battery, unhook the cord, go to System Preferences|Energy Saver, in the 'Optimization' dropdown, select 'Better Perfromance, and under the 'Sleep' pane, be sure your machine won't go to sleep.

You do this so that when your machine does sleep, it does at the empty battery, not any earlier.

And sure, it's fine to use it plugged in all the time - just remember to refresh the bat every now and then. Use iStat to tell you when. I tend to do it when the 'Battery Heath' indicator is between 90-95%

There are detailed instructions about this somewhere in the support section of Apple's website (sorry, don't remember the exact location atm).

It makes no difference when you have it plugged in or not, as long as you plug it in when it needs recharged. As far as calibrating it once a month: it's a good idea, but million of people don't do it, and the biggest impact seems to be a slight reduction in accuracy of "remaining battery time" estimates as well as some reduction of per-charge battery life.

Mine was exactly the same the day I bought it (eight months ago). Calibrating didn't do a thing to help it. It now says I have 66 load cycles (which I find hard to believe) and 88% of original capacity. Did call Applie about it, they said there was nothing wrong. I suspect I'll wind up having to buy another battery before too long.

66 load cycles over ~240 days isn't so hard to believe - that's, oh, about an hour a day on battery, assuming about a 4 hour battery life.

Seems very reasonable to me.
Age of your mac: 6 weeks
BTW, I think this is based on manufacturing date.

I have 86 cycles, and I got my laptop in October  (but i use on battery virtually every day ;) )

I use both iStat Pro and CoconutBattery, but I honestly don't trust either of them too much, although I put more faith in coconut. After my latest battery calibration iStat Pro said I have 143 cycles and 100 percent battery health (definitely not!)...coconut says 95 percent which seems much more likely.
