Hallo,

I already own 2 notebook (Toshiba P4, and FSC P-M) both give me a bit more than 2 hs (with linux, no idea with winblows).

I'm in the process of getting my first Mac, a MacBook. After I decided that I'll get one despite HPs and other costing a bit less (but having to endure removing winblows and installing linux, of course), may last question is how much battery life can I expect ? for example, in light use conditions (text-file edition), DVD playback, etc ?

A straight answer would be most helpful
thanks.

Using my Macbook lightly (bluetooth off, brightness on 1-2 and wifi on) just browsing the web or typing up something I get just under 5 hours.

Typing with wifi off too, you'd probably get almost 5.5 hours, if not more.

Watching a DVD movie, you'd probably be looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 hours.

2 macbooks

Hi,

I'm on my 2nd macbook.... my 1st one consistently got 2:20 with wifi+bluetooth on, and brightness 3 steps below max, doing normal web browsing, downloading, installing. But I returned it because it was running very hot.

My 2nd macbook is much better, for the same situation as above it gets 3:08, and it gets 2:40 on max brightness.

I just got my Macbook, and I charged it and with full brightness, wi-fi on, iTunes on the whole time, playin' around with all the widgets and apps and whatnot, it says 3.8 hours. I'm at about 45%, and it's looking like 4 hours.
