Macbook Camera (new ARM notebooks)

What are the chances Apple will put a high-quality front camera into the upcoming ARM notebooks? Is it really not physically possible to put in a 12MP iPhone 12 level front-facing camera (or something similar) into their notebooks or are they purposely not putting in good webcams to encourage people to purchase iPads/iPhones?

I'm still on my 2012 retina MBP which has the same 720p camera as the 2020 MBP's which is honeslty embarrassing.

At the announcement today, they said something about upgraded facial performance or something but the specs are still 720p. Is the camera in the new MacBooks better than the previous one?

Everything they discussed about the front facing camera sounded computation image enhancements only to me.

Yep. No changes to hardware. I wonder if these only apply to FaceTime calls or for anytime the webcam is used. Hopefully not restricted to FaceTime.

What evidence do you have that the camera is the same?

Not much of an engineer, if you're simply comparing max resolution.
