Ok today the STM Small Loop was delivered. At first it looked a little small but after wearing it, i concluded that it is JUST right. It's small compact size fits the characteristics of the macbook. the STM site implies that the backpack was made for the Macbook, so I knew i couldn't go wrong buying it for the whitebook.

The first front compartment has ALOT of pockets, probably more than you need. It has a red mesh pouch and a small zipper pouch underneath the cd player or mp3 player holder (refer to pictures). There is a puncture for your headphone cords "in" the cd/mp3 pouch. There are also cell phone pockets, another mp3 player pocket, and 3 or so pen holders.
The middle compartment, the most important of all, houses the laptop. It is actually kind of hidden with a waterproof zipper. Inside the compartment is a fleece-like- material on every side of the pocket. There is a very thick layer of foam under neath the fleece material on that would protect every corner and side of the laptop when in use. The quality of this compartment is superb and houses the macbook perfectly (see pictures)
In the back compartment, there is plenty of room for a sweater or some books. I fit a binder and a 700-800 page textbook with the laptop in the backpack's various compartments at the same time. Everything fit perfectly and left little to no pressure on the laptop.
The outside of the backpack is built very well. The arms of the backpack are enforced with a mesh-foam material, as well as the back of the backpack. There are panels that illuminate when a bright light shines on them both on the arms and the front of the backpack. There is also a hidden compartment on the front of the backpack (see picture)
I highly recommend this backpack to ANYONE looking for a case for their macbook. STM makes great products and this one deffinetly lives up to their reputation. The construction is phenomenal and deffinetly protects the macbook. I feel a backpack is way more comfortable than a messanger bag (i have both) and therefore conclude that this is the best way to protect your macbook on the go.
