Hey,
what's a good case for a macbook...cheap is good:D but not chintzy...haha i love that word

links would be appreciated!

I bought the Kensington Saddle Bag Pro. It's a great backpack type case.

There's a review of it here It looks silver in his pictures, but it's actually black.

You can pick one up at Amazon for around US$50.

While there are many brands of laptop bags of all sizes, shapes, and colors, only one brand that I know of will provide the perfect fit for your 15.4" laptop (I presume it IS 15.4", no?). Most brands designed for 15"-16" will not fit MacBook Pro series perfectly oweing to MBP's widescreen design. If you are looking for that customized fit, get either a Brain Cell or Monolith.

good simple case for 13" macbook

I know the things only been out a few months now but can anyone recommend one for the macbook (not pro). every one i've seen in my search has been for 15", 14" or 12" models and apple doesn't sell any that are made specifically for the macbook (plus i'm sure they'd overcharge for them). I'm thinking one of those neoprene ones that zip open and all that jazz.

my dad got me an apple case with my macbook its one of them grey neoprene ones. it fits ok, but a bit big widthwise, not sure what it was for originally. Its ok, with a little document pouch inside but i dont like the fact that it unzips 1/2 way across (width and length) and i always think it will fall out when i unzip! I am waiting for my foofbag which shipped yesterday (hopefully here soon) Its specifically for th macbook so should fit better. can tell you more about it when its here. they also come in cool fabrics.

i don't like computer bags so I boguht one that fits the computer and i can shove it in a bag (may be its a girl thing). so these are quite 'flimsy' and i am sure the computer is not protected if you chuck it, but at least it gives you the option of using different bags with the computer!

will report back on the foof (no zip, but may be big enough to customize) when i recieve it.

mbp

i use the booq boq system backpack case with the powersleeve. I love it, it works great and protects the system. it also comes with a free iPod case, cell phone case and PDA case. Great setup

I can't say enough about my Waterfield sleeves. They're a bit expensive...but worth every cent. I'd recommend them to anyone, no questions asked.

I just bought myself one from Booq. The model is called Mamba S. It fits my black MB perfectly! It also have numerous pockets for power supply, and even a front pocket for iPod with headphone eyelet.

Yep, got the same info from STM just recently! :D I can't wait...the Rebound is just great. For now, I'll have to make due with my Bitolithic POS. My new STM Loop backpack is absolutely amazing too! I'm pretty loyal to RadTech/STM as well...they've always got great products! :)

My MB Solution

I bought a Timbuk2 Commute bag recently because I needed a new bag. I bought a Tom Bihn MB sleeve and it fits the built-in laptop storage space. The fit's a little snug, but not too bad. Maybe I'm a little overprotected, but in this case that's just fine with me.
