Last week I splashed out on my second mac and bought a macbook (Middle spec white, C2D, 1GB RAM, 80GB HDD). I was at home on our wireless network with a belkin router, and it worked fine... (Had a WEP Hex encryption), and it worked fine...
I brought it over to uni, and the first thing I went to do was configure the MB for use on the network... When prompted I put in the password as regular... And got "Cannot connect to the airport network" message... Using a D-link router with WEP Password protection here...
Anyway, after the "Cannot connect" message, the network then dies... I can't get online on my iMac, and neither can my housemates on their PCs and one with their PBG4...
This happened last year with one of my housemates' windows laptops... We never solved the problem so she just used her boyfriend's PC...
The network setup is as follows:
D-Link wireless router
iMac G5
PBG4
2 Windows PCs
------------------
Macbook
Anyone got any ideas? The network stays connected, it just won't let you access any web pages... Not even the 192.168.1.1 setup page...
