I just bought my macbook on Mon. and I have never seen the green light on the magsafe go on. It will just stay lit up orange. It will charge to 99% and then say calculating but it will stay on that. Is it a problem with the AC adapter or the computer itself? I have tried calabrating the battery but that didn't change anything.

Hmm...interesting. It's probably do to some really minor hardware conflict with the battery's microprocessor that the computer is reading as incorrect or something.

Actually, batteries tend to do that from time to time so no worry.

Try re-calibrating the battery. Run the entire battery to absolute zero. (Ignore the 10 minute message) and then recharge all the way to full.

You've got 90 Days of AppleCare phone support, just make the trek to your telephone! ;):D

Make sure you read this article by Apple about battery maintenance. (It may not help in this situation, but it's very worth knowing.)

Alright, I just called Applecare and they said to take it to the Apple store for them to check it out. But, I'm going to try to zap the PRAM and recalabrate the battery once I get home. It still charges the battery and everything but I just don't want it to lead to any other problems somehow.

Funny thing, I got home to try and zap the PRAM and the green light was finally on. I left it plugged in for a couple hours and that did the trick. I tried that before but it didn't do anything. Oh well. I'm just glad its working right now.:)

I had the same problem with my Macbook right after bringing it home. I was keeping it plugged in most of the time and it was never reading charged. It turned out to be the prongs for the battery were loose. Yes, you would think this would have been check in quality control! Anyways tightened those screws and walla! Macbook charges fine and shows the percentage of charge and everything.
