The Port!
So i've been reading various threads about the macbook. I've got some questions about them though. Firstly, does the white MB discolor? Secondly how bad is the greasy marks on the Blackbook and what is the best way to clean it.

Thanks in advance :cool:

also interested in this, additonal how do they compare to those metal powerbooks?

the white macbook didn't discolor or stain in the six months i owned it. i can't speak for the blackbook, but i think if you clean it every so often you should be fine.

It shouldn't discolor.. But if it does (while it's still on warranty) you could get Apple to replace the palm-rest. As for the blackbook I'm not too sure.. :\

edit::

get one of those Mr. Magic Clean Eraser. I've used it on my iBook G4 and it looks good as new!

I'm going to be buying a white MacBook in the coming 2 weeks. I heard that it really isn't that bad at getting dirty. If the arm rest gets dirty, just use Mr. Clean magic eraser. As for the keyboard, my friend recommended me iKlear.

I just got my new blackbook a couple of weeks ago and as for the prints on the trackpad and wristpad...it does show smudges here and there if your wrists have been on it for an extended period...however, after I purchased the aevoe/moshi trackpad/wrist protector I have not had to worry about any smudging on the trackpad and wrist protector...so definitely take a look at aevoe/moshi if you are considering the blackbook...hope that helps...

all that said, is black or white easier to look after in the macbook?

I saw white even though it may get dirty here and there.

When you go out into the wild and people see your MacBook, they will be like, "Whoa! That guys laptop is white. That means it's a MacBook! I want one!"

With a black MacBook, you might get, "Hmmm. He has a black laptop. Another Vista n00b."

Which sounds better?

There is not really another notebook that looks like the black Macbook in my opinion, on the Macbook there arent any ports on the back and there also is the big shining Apple on the back. The only way someone would mistake it is if they are over 50 feet away.
