I have a macbook and I want a clear film or something like that to have on the outside of the computer. I know they make them for ipods, but do they have anything like that for the macbook?

Yepp. Invisibleshield makes one for the Macbooks. They're not cheap, though.

If I am thinking correctly, I have seen the invisishields for laptops at the Apple Store. I didn't check price, so I can't verify if they are expensive, but I have seen them. Keeps the black MacBook from looking greasy :(

I bought the IS for two of my macbooks. They look awesome. It wasn't very hard for me to install it either, contrary to what many say.

green tinge

I bought the shieldzone product and it really does protect against scratches.

However there is now a green tinge on the track pad and on button. I think it is actually the clear film and not the computer surface itself.

Has anyone else experienced this? It makes it look awful.

And how does this shiny wonder product look on a matte black macbook? :) Anyone have experience with it?

Yea, I've been thinking of skipping the palm rests as well. I mean.. How much darker can a black palm rest become? :)

You nutsos and your "invisishields"...
Your Macbooks look stupid with those clear stickers on them. :p
What's the point in protecting the appearance of your notebook if it's going to look silly in the meantime?

Hi,
I'm thinking about getting the skin from bestskinsever for my macbook. However, according to their instructions on the website, I'm supposed to use some water and mix it with mild liquid soap. Is this a potential problem? Since there were so many problems with the white macbook, I'm worried that having some chemicals that stays between my macbook case and the plastic skin for a long period of time will have some effect on the casing.

Am i just too paranoid? How will i know what 'mild liquid soap' will be suitable? Please help. I'm thinking of ordering them soon if it's a feasible solution

Im actually a designer at a sign shop and we deal with vinyl applications all the time and installing one of the invisible shields is kind of like what we do. I would use a mix of water and some dawn dish detergent. Just use a tiny amount of soap. Dawn is very gently and won't harm the computers finish. Wild life rescue workers use it to clean animals and many antiques dealers use it to bring old items back to life.

I have an InvisibleShield on the outside of my Macbook, on the palmrests and on the trackpad. I'm pretty happy with it.

I have one recommendation for you if you decide to get one. I didn't apply mine in the cleanest area, and I got some dust stuck on the underside of mine.

I have the full body shield. It's expensive but you get what you pay for...like a lifetime warranty. When it comes time to sell it (for the 12" MBP perhaps :D ) it will retain it's resale value and act as a bonus to potential buyers.
