I am at work, and being late in the evening, there is no other noise.... and I hear a faint "click" coming from my macbook (c2d, purchases 3 weeks back). It comes from near the super drive, but the sound is not at having a pattern(click .... x secs ... click) .. I dont see any badness in my system.log

Is this something I should worry about ?

hard disk clicking can often be one of the early signs of a dying drive.

make sure you back up regularly, and keep an eye on the disk (check it using disk utility. often).

maybe even take it to an apple store to see if they think it's worth replacing.

don't get me wrong, i may be off the mark here, but i've experienced a fair few HDD deaths, and they always begin with random-ish clickings
