Hey,

Sent my macbook core 2 back to apple about a month ago for a refund due to the left side of keyboard being 'cheap' and alot more noisy than the right.....also the cpu having a constant whine even wen not in using any program.

Has anyone received a new macbook core 2 recently without these problems as i dont want to buy a new one if these problems are still present?

Also am considering buying from 'John Lewis' due to the Free 2yr Gurantee.....Has anyone had experience of their customer service with macs?

Thanks

Ok first off...no need to post in multiple forums...one thread will do.

Secondly, I don't recall there being any significant MacBook Core 2 problems. That being said, I'm sure there are millions of people who have received perfect MacBooks...they just don't feel the urge to come to MacRumors and post about their perfectly functioning computer.

my left hand side of the keyboard feels crap as well, and the the side where all the ports are is loose. doesn't bother me enough to send it in. might do towards the end of the warranty period...

ps. ordered mine on the 16th nov.

I got a perfectly working Macbook 2 days ago.
The screen has strange viewing angles, but works flawlessly.

Next revision should show up in few months, when intel gets ready his latest bundle. You can always wait to that next iteration, unless you need a computer now.

OTOH, some people had better luck sending their machine for a refund and buying same model again.

I doubt that Apple has sold 100's of 1000's of MB's all with the same problems as yours. It was probably just a defect unit. I can't help you with John Lewis?

I bought my MacBook three days after the official release and it's relatively perfect.

The high noises is just a tiny issue and hopefully Apple fixes this because somehow force quitting photobooth then sleeping/waking it back up makes the CPU quiet (unless MagSafe is plugged in).

Another slight issue is the Airport card. With the Airport card being so new, it may be foreign to several router companies that has no close relations to Apple. I think the recent update fixed problems on Apple's side. Now I think it's up to other router companies to keep up with Apple's Airport card.
