I have searched the forums but not found anything relating to this. Over many years, my old iBook (can't remember which model) began to creep out of line and eventually the connection between computer and screen was lost and had to be repaired at quite a cost (hundreds of £s).
I noticed last night that the same thing has happened with my MacBook 2.0 C2D. I am quite fussy when it comes to these things and think I would have noticed it creeping, so I suspect it may have been knocked. It is approx. 1mm out of line, which doesn't sound like much but is very noticable and worrying with regard to connections.
Other problems experienced include:
When waking from sleep, the keyboard will not work for several minutes;
When closing my MacBook, it will not go to sleep. Thereafter, opening will send it to sleep and closing will wake it again. This has happened maybe 5 times and on a couple of occasions caused my MacBook to overheat. The only remedy appears to be a force shut down.
The sleep/wake problem I have read about before, but I'm curious as to whether the overheating might have caused the joints to weaken and therefore warp.
Do these new MacBooks have a reputation for poor hinges and/or workmanship in general? Is the keyboard issue known?
