Well my macbook has taken a bullet and gone to the great MacHeaven.

The Superdrive failed to read Anything I put inside it, even failed to read the install disc.

It would spin and then spit the disc out a few seconds later...

I've seen a number of people have experienced similar things with the macbook superdrives. Looks like another REV A problem that needs to be sorted ASAP.

My replacement is on order, two weeks till expected arrival and TNT will collect my faulty machine tommorow.

I've had a similar problem. I was trying to install Halo and it wouldn't take. Then i was trying to install iWork 06, and moved it off of my lap to go get a drink, and i came back, and i wouldn't install. Lo and behold, i popped the disc out and it completely scratched my disc. It there were cirlces all over the place from the drive. I was rather unhappy.

I took it to the Apple store yesterday and they gave me a new iWorks Disc as well as a new Macbook. So your not the first one.

Not sure, I guess it's just one of those things. I thought I had a perfect macbook

I bet the replacement have another defect now, like the mooing or such

Oh well at least they said this time it will ship priortity meaning it should be here in less time, maybe two weeks instead of three ;)

Add that to my powermac G5 logic board failing 10 days ago, and my Scanner deciding it no longer wants to work, or an epson R200 printer deciding it no longer wants to accept new cartridges, my hardware woes over the last couple of days are amazing..... I think i need valium :D
