Bit of a nooby question but I was just wondering where the vents are
On my laptop its on the right hand side which I really like cos when its sat on your lap it isn't blowing hot air onto your legs and also if it rocks back a little you don't block the vents with your trousers
Also on this note, how loud is it when in light use eg web and IM etc?

Thanks :)

Ah OK :/
Hopefully shouldn't be too bad

It isn't too bad. You don't feel the hot air blowing out of the vents when using your laptop or anything.

Under normal use (web, music, word processing, etc) the MacBook Pro isn't loud at all. If you're using Photoshop or some other more intensive apps, you will certainly feel the fans accelerating, but they're easily overpowered by Music and/or using headphones.

I thought the grilles on the corners were the speakers ?

They are. The large, wide area where the the display hinge is located is the vent for the CPU and anything else needing venting (ie the GPU on the MBP).

And like others have said, it is pretty quiet when doing minor stuff. It isn't until mine gets above about 60C that the fans kick on.

I like the vent over the display hinge because it keeps my hands warm during winter. Type a bit and put my hands over it. ;)
