Macbook frontrow issues

When I use frontrow on my macbook screen, it works fine. However, when I hook my macbook up to my hdtv and use it in clamshell mode, the videos play, but with no picture. It shows the names of all of my files, and the audio plays fine, but there is no video. Am i missing something?

Poking around online that seems to be the case - certainly I'm seeing the same problem and a solution would be appreciated
