Macbook giving me problems...

My Macbook was acting fine until recently. I think it is because of an update that the Automatic Updated thing did. Since then, my dock has reset, my Safari bookmarks have vanished (they reset everytime I reboot), and my Spotlight is ALWAYS indexing (this is what I have noticed, so far), and it usually takes way too long for it to index (much longer then usual).

Any idea what could be going on? I'm clueless.

Have you renamed any of the system folders?

other things to try if you didn't rename any system folders is repairing permissions, somtimes you need to do that after an update.
