macbook graphics card frazzle?

hey fellow macbook users and windows just a quick question. i was informed by a friend that if you bootcamp a macbook like mine with windows seven and you then install a game such as command and conquer 4 on the windows version that my graphics card would frazzle i currently have a Chipset Model: GMA 950
so if there is any one who can help me quick i would be grateful as i planned to bootcamp my macbook in the comming week thanks
 
by frazzle i mean short out sorry like the whole thing will just burn up and/or wont work
 
Don't hold me to this but i wouldnt have thought that just by running a game this would happen! As far as im aware if the graphics card cant handle something it just won't run or will run very badly, shorting out requires physical contact and is the when you put too much current into a circuit or jump the current over parts of the circuit that theyre not meant to!

I've got a macbook with the gma 950 and have run games and such with no problems while in windows. I take it youve done some googling on the matter? you could start there and if not hope that someone else has played C&C on a macbook and happens to read this thread! To be honest id just give it a go, i see it as a physical impossibilty for the graphics card to kill itself in that way!

thanks for this man hopfully your right i will just bootcamp my macbook hopfully my graphics card will handle it
 
I haven't for a while now as i have a newer imac now for games, but i believe it was things like need for speed and splinter cell. Bootcamp is a supported installation so there should be no reason for concern over installing it.

Read this article https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/710673/ to see how others have seen the gma 950 perform, note that no destruction just some lack of graphical properties.
 
To my knowledge you won't damage the graphics card by overtaxing it, but you will damage your gaming experience... Basically as it hits full load you will probably end up with a slowing of the frame rate or stuttering play as the card tries to keep up with what the game is demanding - thinks like running the games at lower settings will help though.

I know running Command and Conquer 3 (bought as a mac compatable version) with my GMA x3100 powered macbook does work, bar some slowdown when I start being a bit over the top in the amount of units I can get onscreen (acceptably really).
At the same time it does make a point of noting that it does not support the GMA950 chipsets...
