hi, first off i would like to thank all of the posters on this forum who finally gave me the inspiration i needed to go out and buy my first mac, a c2d blackbook. Ive done a couple searches and havent been able to find an answer to my specific problem so i decided to ask for help...
Heres my problem, ive set up file sharing between my macbook and my old windows based laptop, mainly since i didnt want to clutter my new hard drive with a bunch of files i might need in the future. Although i have never setup a file sharing network i followed instructions i found on several websites and i beleive i have everything setup correctly, since i am able to connect to my windows laptop. The problem is that although sometimes i can transfer files to my macbook, most of the time Finder hangs in the middle of the transfer and i am forced to restart my computer. I dont think i am trying to transfer anything too big as they files are mainly word documents and pictures. Is this a common problem when sharing files or is there anything i could do to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated!
