Hey,

I am thinking about getting a White Macbook (2ghz) but I am worried about how much space I actually get on the 80gb Hard Drive. I know OSX takes up quite a bit, could anybody tell me how much space I actually get?

Thanks

A full install of OS X on an 80 GB drive will leave you with about 60 GB of free space. You can free up a good bit of additional space if needed by deleting unused apps and their support files (iMovie, iDVD and GarageBand support files take up a lot of space), printer drivers, and foreign language support.

Should still come out about 60Gb free..

Right now Ive got the same model with...
MS Office
Adobe CS2 Suite
Photoshop CS3 Beta
Parallels
4 GB of iTunes playlists
About 10 GB of personal data
Another 8 GB of virtual machines

Still got over 25 MB of space left.

When I got my stock MB, I had about 55.6GB free. I used Monolingual and that freed up about 1.6GB.

After installing a few apps/widgets, it says I have 57GB free.

I purchased a Seagate 100GB 7200rpm and it should be arriving Monday.

For any Intel Mac users considering using Monolingual, be sure to uncheck the options in the Architectures pane of the program before running. Failure to do so with bork your system (it will destroy Rosetta and you'll be unable to run PPC apps) and you'll have to do an Archive and Install to recover from it. I recommend Delocalizer...it's an older program, but I've heard multiple reports of people using it successfully on new machines, and it's default behavior doesn't wreck your OS X install.
