MacBook has splotchy patch on screen

It's all shiny looking. It doesn't really obstruct anything, but it's annoying. My sister claims she has not dropped her MacBook recently or dropped anything on it. Any idea what could have caused it? Any chance AppleCare will cover it?

Take a visit to the Apple Store, and see what they think of it.

You might have it fixed for no charge.

My guess would be that somehow, pressure or stress of some kind was applied to that area (someone sat on it maybe?) or somehow, moisture pooled up there. Who knows?

You usually see these kind of anomalies on the screen after a water/liquid spill.

But since you say that nothing of that sort had happened, just take it to apple store and see what they have to say.

That looks a little like the old PowerBook blotching issue.
