MacBook insides scratching when closed?

Hello there! I got a MacBook about 3 days ago, and so far I've been extremely impressed with the computer.

However, today when I opened up the MacBook from its closed position, I noticed that along the plastic portion that surrounds the LCD screen, there were fair-sized scuff marks left all around it, about 8 in total. While not extremely intrusive, they are quite visible, and weren't there the last time I had used the hardware.

There was also what appeared to be a scuff mark left on the LCD screen, but it wiped off rather easily with a microfibre cloth, although I can't say the same for the ones on the outer plastic.

I've never experienced this before, and I'm wondering if this is some type of common problem? I know for sure that nothing came in contact between the keyboard and the screen, and it wasn't shaken or bumped because I had just used it before going to sleep 8 hours before. Frankly, I'm a bit worried to even leave it in its closed position now...

I dunno about the Macbook, but the Macbook Pro shipped with a thin piece of fabric between the screen and the keyboard. Allthough it was meant mainly for keeping it protected in shipping, i've heard of people using that to keep the screen and such protected. Also a few companies actually sell a protector that is designed to out live the flimsy one that the MBP shipped with. If your macbook had something similar I'd use it. If not you may be able to buy one after market, as long as it doesn't proclude the magnetic latch (or hell, it may just work through it if it's thin enough).

My PowerBook 17" had the same rubbing issues. Apple wouldn't fix it as they called it a "cosmetic" issue. They did end up replacing the parts when I had the screen replaced. I ended up buying TadTech's WildEepz and a ScreenSavrz to protect it. The ScreenSavrz may seem pricey but it is an awesome cloth. It's washable and can be used to clean your Mac, glasses, etc.
