I'm upgrading my XP Boot Camp Partition of my Macbook as I'm typing this and I have come across a small issue.

The screen has turned blank whilst installing and nothing seems to be happening. Is this normal? Or has something gone wrong with the installation process?

vista blank screen

HI

I have exactly the same problem with 1.83Gz Mac mini and Vista Home premium. Searching desperately for an answer- been told it may be due to graphics incompatibility- but then others seem to have managed with no problem!!!

Will be in touch if I find a solution..

When I installed Vista on my MBP (C2D) through bootcamp, it did the blank screen a few times, and at one point for almost a minute. I thought it had given up, but left it running and it continued.

It's worth noting that if you use Parallels to access bootcamp, you can't use Vista - Parallels isn't compatible with Vista/BC yet.

mac mini black screen bootcamp vista solution for me

I had a mini dvi to hdmi connection to a plasma display, and here was the problem
If you have a vga input into your monitor use the mini DVI to vga adaptor provided with your mac and connect to your screen. Vista home premium has just loaded in front of my eyes and after 4 days and one wipe out of my mac os I am feeling aroused.

I managed to install Vista correctly though. I ended up leaving it for around 3 hours and then manually killing my Macbook. When I rebooted Vista started up like normal.
