MacBook - is there a system limit on the storage size (GB) for the internal hard disc (what the system will recognise), or is the limit due to physical size and heat, ie could a future higher density disc with the correct physical size and heat output be used?

Thanks.

There's no system limit on the hd like there is on ram. The limit is on size, heat, power consumption and possibly noise. However, many people can live with the shorter battery life or extra noise. So yes, you can swap the hd in the macbook when a higher density hd of the same size comes out. It has to be SATA though, or it won't work.
