Macbook is further away from an update.

That's simply based on the average of past updates and not on any real info. It's also skewed by the long updates at the end of the iBook line...Knock those out and the average is just about six months, which would put the next update around November!
 
Wait, the MacBook is even further away from an update than it was before? That sucks! :p

Unless you think the Macbook is being discontinued, there will eventually be an update. Therefore, every day must bring us closer to an update.
 
One thing to think about...apple has updated their macbook(ibook) line before the holiday season every year except for 2005. Why not 07?
 
If you check out the dates of the last few updates, it shows that the current predictions for Nov 6th are quite realistic. Last year there was an update in May, then November. This year, the MacBook was again updated in May.... You see a pattern emerging? :)

So, you can say the same thing about the MBP, lol. It's all relative :D
I would hope to get a better quality (compared to MBP 15.4) LED backlit screen on the MB this next rev.

Then we'll get SR chipset, upgraded Intel integrated GPU Mac Minis too, in November :) ?

Didn't Multimedia just pull that Nov 6th date out of his rear?? (yes, I know that he explained his reasoning...but it is still nothing more than a random guess from a MacRumors member)

Check the threads about predictions regarding the future of the Mini. Doesn't look too bright, which is a bit of a shame. Maybe a Mac Nano release in November, who knows? :)

Yes I'm pretty sure he did, but as I said if you look at the previous update times the Nov 6th prediction looks quite realistic.
 
Why do we call the new Macbook Pro's Santa Rosa MBP? SR is a platform that Apple isn't using (read: Apple uses it's own wireless card). The cpu is either Merom or Penryn. The chipset is Crestline. It just seems really confusing to me.


I for one am looking forward to Apple using parts of the Montevina Platform. That seems to be where all the bus changes will be taking place: faster FSB, faster memory support (at the expense of all the DDR2 we probably have lying around), etc.
