Hi there,

I have a 2017 MBP. When I purchased the machine I failed to notice that the memory or the HD cannot be upgraded. The memory is fine, but I notice that I am deleting stuff on a regular basis as 256GB is simply not enough space. I have a 5 TB external drive, but when I try to install some programs I get a "case sensitive error". I didn't have this error in Mojave, but as I am in Catalina this has become an issue.

I have tried to format the external drive using the various options in Disk Utility, but nothing seems to work. I can install some programs. but others gives me a "case sensitive error" (literally any adobe product). Additionally, I get the same error if I try to install any Adobe product on the main HD. I assume I am missing something simple? I see all sorts of posts that suggest people can run programs from the external, but that the boot speed off the program is a bit slower as the program is not on the actual HD.

Thanks much for any feedback you can provide
