macbook lid closed re-opened and it restarts?!?!?

got a problem, i had this beautiful beat i made on my macbook i closed the screen, without saving the song. I open it and everything like restarts up, it always happens nothing new, im acting now cuz i lost my beat!!!!!!!!!!!
Could you clarify a couple of points?
1) Are you saying that the system reboots or that the applications restart?
2) What music design software are you using?

like everything restarts, like all the apps i had opened, are not opened again. I was using garageband, but when i close my screen, its as if i restarted my computer. like the only thing thats opened is like finder
