Macbook lid help

Hello, how do i change the option so taht my macbook doesnt fall into sleep/hibernate mode when i close the lid?

You don't.

You need to plug in an external mouse, keyboard, display, etc.
AFAIK, just plugging in a mouse will wake up the computer after it's closed.

You'll need something like SleepLess to do that.

eek $10? I know that isn't much, but for one little hack... seems ridiculous to charge more than a couple dollars. There must be another option...

All it has to do is cancel the sleep process. Its probably only a dozen lines of code. I'm not impressed.

Keep in mind, the MacBook vents from just below the screen. It wasn't really meant to be used while being closed.

Haha, I was about to call you out on this, but I realized that unlike the built in lid closed mode w/video out this would probably keep the screen on while closed which probably would make problems! I guess you could set the screen to turn off after one minute or something though.

Doesn't work, AFAIK you've got to have it hooked up to the mini DVI out thing and hooked up to a/c power. Then remote wakes it up! No keyboard / mouse needed! Yay for frontrow.

When I close my lid my macbook falls asleep. However, if I click on the attached external mouse then it'll wakeup in clamshell mode. Hopethat helps.
