Macbook+Logitech Z-2300 speakers?

Would the Z-2300's be able to produce a decent sound if connected to the macbook's headphone port?

Is the performance decent or i need an external sound card to power 'em?

I don't think you'll have any trouble. I've done much bigger than those with my MB.
