Macbook M1: Monterey on an external SSD ?

Dear all,

On a Macbook M1, (OSX Big Sur)is it possible to install Monterey on an external usb-c SSD and then use that as
boot drive for the M1 ?
Anyone having experience with this ?

Yes, you can do this.
Works fine for me -- I'm using a 2018 Mini (if that makes a difference, couldn't say).
