MacBook - Mooing, Whining, WLAN problems

I just got my MacBook last week and I really like it - great design, great OS, fast, etc.

However, there are some flaws which are annoying me. The first problems are the already heavily discussed mooing and whining - my MacBook is mooing after a few hours working on it (not immediately after I turn on the computer) and sometimes whining when it is charging the battery.
I really hope that a Firmware update will solve these problems with mooing and whining.

What I am more concerned about is that my MacBook looses the WLAN connection frequently, although I have full reception and the Router is properly working (other computers in the network don't have this kind of problem).

Does anyone know something about issues with the airport in the MacBook?
Perphaps one important observation is that the airport can't even connect to the WLAN after I ran windows xp (via bootcamp) and restart the computer to run OS X. If I want to connect to the WLAN in OS X after I had windows running, I have to shut down the computer and restart it to OS X. But also when I run OS X in the first place and the MacBook is connected to the WLAN it may work for one or two hours and after that it often looses the connection. Does anyone have the same problems?

Yeah. I have the same problem with my WAN connection at home. At work we have an airport router and I have no problems using the wireless connection.

At home I have a D-link wireless/wired router. When I try using Safari and click on a link, I observe a 5-8 second lag before the website loads. Interestingly, when I use a 'bridge' (the access point is wireless but connects to my laptop via an ethernet cable), then I observe no lag when surfing. So perhaps a firmware update may improve this issue too?

And yes, I hear mooing very faintly after 30min+ of laptop usage. I own a 13.3 inch/white 2.0 Ghz Core Duo Macbook with 1 GB RAM.

Me too. I never thought my G4 Albook would last 3 years. Let's hope the Merom-based MBPs and MBs don't do all these crappy things otherwise I'll be stuck with G4 forever. (not including my Intel iMac, which is lovely, just not very portable...)

Hi there. I have a MB and have Boot Camp installed, plus a wireless network. I've noticed no issues.

Have you tried Internet Robustness? That can make quite the difference.

I've had no problems bouncing between Windows and OS X and using the wireless, although that doesn't mean there isn't a problem. I wonder if its related to a lease reservation in Windows that OS X is trying to renew? After all, the wireless adaptor shares the same MAC address, regardless of which OS is running.

I too have the mooing problem. I exchange a mooing MacBook for another mooing one! I'm goign to wait 10 days for a solution otherwise it's going back.

Some Books have it... Other's don't!

Take it back and demand a replacement! My Book seems to be perfect with no problems at all. YET! Guess I just got lucky!
